I am just finding out of my friend's passing. Although a patient, his visits felt like a friend coming to visit. What a fine gentleman and person he is, and I will miss him. I once took him shooting at the gun range, which he had not done in a very long time. I remember the pure joy in his countenance as we did this, and he remarked that he really enjoyed himself and that he "really needed this" with a big smile. I am thankful for our friendship and also for his reunion with his wife, and their eternal rest.

Gunny Dickerson was my Drill Instructor when I went through boot camp in 1970. He took a lot of young dumb kids and turned us in to not only Marines but productive citizens. I had the good fortune to reconnect with Bob later in life. He was a great Marine and a great man. He is already missed. Fair Winds and Following seas.
