Becky Picard, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1955, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Shannon “Buddy” Messer and Thelma Lorene Plumber Messer.
Becky was a 1973 graduate of Bridge City High School and spent much of her life serving her community and working alongside family. She worked for her brother, Dr. Mark Messer, at Advanced Dental Care for 45 years. She also dedicated many years to Woodmen of the World Life Insurance, beginning in 1988 as a coordinator, later serving as Camp Coordinator, and eventually serving as Treasurer.
Becky was married to her husband, Paul Charles Picard, for 45 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and the countless memories they shared throughout more than four decades together.
She was a devoted mother to her son, Joseph James Picard, and a loving stepmother to Melissa Picard Logan. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shan Loren Zirlott.
Becky was a proud and loving grandmother to Cameron Jace Picard, Joseph James Picard Jr., Alec Villyard, Katelyn White, Hannah Gutierrez, Allie Craig, Gavin Moore, and Kallen Logan. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shaun Zirlott.
She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Addisyn Moore, Marvel Villyard, Zayne White, Braxton Trichell, and Grant Trichell.
Family meant everything to Becky. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly and cherished every opportunity to spend time with the people closest to her. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Mark Messer, and her sisters, Judy Schrumpf, Sherry Boling, and Thelma Deloach.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Shannon “Buddy” Messer and Thelma Lorene Plumber Messer; her daughter, Shan Loren Zirlott; her grandson, Shaun Zirlott; her sister, Karen Meaux; and her brother, John Messer.
Becky truly had a heart of gold. She was kind, loving, accepting, and had a way of seeing the good in people. She never seemed to meet anyone she didn’t like, and she made those around her feel welcomed, cared for, and loved.
She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, spending time with her dogs, going to the beach, and simply being surrounded by family. She found happiness in the simple things and treasured the memories made with the people she loved most.
Becky will be remembered for her loving heart, her kindness toward others, her devotion to her family, and the love she gave so freely throughout her life. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on through everyone who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul; her son, Joseph; her stepdaughter, Melissa; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters; and the many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives she touched.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those she loved who went before her, including her daughter, Shan, and grandson, Shaun.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Picard, John Eddins, Jackson Schrumpf, Jesse Gardner, Jeremy Messer, and Wesley Self.
Becky’s love, kindness, and memory will remain with her family forever.
