Obituary

Peggy Jean Turner, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on May 28, 1957, in Beaumont, Texas, to Clayton and Jean Elshire.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services in Beaumont. Burial will follow at China Cemetery in China, Texas.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services in Beaumont.

Peggy dedicated many years of service to Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a truly loving individual who cherished her family above all else, always finding joy in taking care of them. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she loved them very much. In her leisure time, Peggy enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel. Her loving spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jeff Turner; her daughters, Heather Sherrick and her husband Craig, and Jennifer Turner and Billy Dunn. Peggy was a devoted grandmother to Aidan Sherrick, Kelsie Schwartzenburg, and Kenslie Dunn. She also leaves behind her brother, Ken Elshire; her sister, Debbie Elshire; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Clayton and Jean Elshire; and brother, Gary Elshire.
