A Life Remembered

Obituary

Kimmie Earl Ard, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on October 22, 2026, in Hull, Texas. He was born on January 22, 1954, in Woodville, Texas.

Kimmie was a family man at heart, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He treasured the simple pleasures of life and found peace and happiness in the great outdoors. Whether fishing, hunting, or camping, Kimmie enjoyed every opportunity to be surrounded by nature. He had a special way of showing his love through the little things, often mowing his family's lawns, fixing things, removing snakes and making sure we didn’t need anything. His thoughtfulness and willingness to lend a hand were just a few of the ways he showed how much he cared. Kimmie also enjoyed watching NCIS and old Westerns, with John Wayne holding a special place among his favorites.

Kimmie leaves behind a lifetime of love and precious memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Dee Ann Ard; his daughters, Kimberly Melancon, Tina Williamson and husband Robert, and Melissa Bushnell and husband Clifton; his sisters, Mary Creduer and Melba Knoblock; his brother, Jimmie Ard; his grandchildren, Payten Mouton and husband Michael, Alexander Stewart and wife Rheanna, Benjamin Stewart, Thomas Nolen, Mary Bushnell and Quentin Williamson; and his great-grandchildren, Karter, Kamdyn, Zaedyn, Parker, and Aria. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Kimmie was preceded in death by his father, Loyd Dennis Ard; his mother, Leavie Smart Ard; his brothers, James Ard and Lonnie Ard; and his sisters, Willie Ard Whistler, Thelma Taylor, and an infant sister.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Church, located at 301 Idaho, Daisetta, Texas 77533. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Taylor Choate, Brother Jeff Stracner, and Minister Clifton Bushnell officiating. Kimmie will be laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas 77519.

Though Kimmie's earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lessons he left behind will live on through the generations of family he cherished so dearly. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of the outdoors, and the quiet, thoughtful ways he showed his family how much they meant to him. His hands may be still, but the love he planted in the hearts of those around him will continue to grow for years to come. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
