Obituary

James Robbins, born on December 23, 1962, in Port Arthur, Texas, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2026, in his hometown. James lived a life marked by dedication and simple joys, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories for all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and former students.

James found contentment in the outdoors, often spending his time fishing or meticulously tending to his yard. These activities brought him peace and a connection to nature. Professionally, James dedicated many years to educating young minds as a beloved teacher at Bridge City ISD, where he positively impacted countless students with his guidance and passion for learning.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, James Robbins, Sr. and Lucy Robbins. James is survived by his devoted brother, Fred Robbins of Vidor; his sisters, Tina Kohn and her husband, Mel of Vidor, and Kristeen Hanes and her husband, Grant of Nacogdoches. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas, where James will be laid to rest.
