CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF EULA MAE (JOHNSON) FRAZIER
Eula Mae Frazier was born August 19, 1940, to Rev. Herod and Eula Sally Johnson in Shelby, North Carolina. She graduated from Camp High School (Shelby, N.C.) and attended Johnson’s Secretarial School (Cleveland, Ohio). Eula was employed faithfully for many years as an administrative assistant for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office (Cleveland, Ohio). She brought dedication, responsibility, and dependability to her work retiring in 2019
She was a faithful member of Sharon Temple Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of her brother, the late Rev. James Johnson. Afterward, she was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and Celebration United Methodist Church. And she carried her faith not merely as something she said, but as something she lived. Over the years she served in many different roles, including the card ministry, always reaching out to others.
Her favorite passage of Scripture was Psalm 23. Those familiar words "The Lord is my shepherd" were more than beautiful poetry to Eula. They expressed the foundation of her life. She knew there was a Shepherd watching over her, guiding her, comforting her, and keeping her even when the road became difficult. She loved the Lord and believed in God.
Eula Mae was a woman who loved gospel music, cooked for her family, laughed at The Andy Griffith Show, and enjoyed The Godfather movies series with the emphasis on family.
She was a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Eula was the kind of woman who noticed what needed to be done and did it. She gave, helped, provided, protected, worried, prayed and most of all cooked for family and friends.
Eula M. Frazier was a woman who understood something that has become increasingly rare: family is not simply who you are related to - family is who you take care of.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers David Johnson, Rev. James Johnson, Emmanuel Johnson, Thomas Johnson, sisters Gaylord Johnson, and Jeanette Johnson. Eula leaves behind her only daughter, Eugenia (Rev. David) Whitt.her beloved granddaughter, Davida, (Matthew) Allen and her precious great-grandchildren, Trinity and Naomi Allen, her sisters Elizabeth Davis and Daisy (Rev Jesse) Allen, brothers Robert (Monnie) Johnson and Rufus (Anqunetta) Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10: a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
