A Life Remembered
Obituary
Dorothy Farmer, a beloved resident of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 22, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on November 16, 1930, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dorothy was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness, and as such, she was an avid philanthropist, always promoting the welfare of others. Because of this, she was truly a force to be reckoned with. Her life was rich with diverse experiences and dedicated service. Right after the war, she drove a city bus, and in her younger years, she was a member of a motorcycle club. She worked for many years at Foremans, a local bakery, and was also a business owner of Mowers and Tractors Inc. She and her first husband, Henry, were self-made individuals.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a longtime member of Drake Memorial Presbyterian for 54 years, where she was very active in many roles. More recently, she was a current member of Faith Methodist Church.
Dorothy had a deep love for her family, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her favorite activities with them were “playing cooties”, going to the lake, eating ice cream, and singing Christmas carols. She remained active into her 90s, enjoying gardening, quilting, and cross-stitching. She was known for her very giving and charitable spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Carol Farmer; her son, Steve Moore and wife Susan; her grandchildren, Regina Brown and husband Chad, and Steve-Ann Moore; her great-grandchildren, Trent Brown and wife Kaylin, Quenton Daigle, Haley McGraw and husband Jake, Sadie Daigle and fiancé Kam Revere, and Khloe LeBlanc; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kenna Brown, Wes Brown, Dorothy Sue Brown, Waylon Revere, and Maizie McGraw. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Myrtle Allred; her first husband, Henry S. Moore; and her siblings.
The family extends a special thank you to all of Dorothy's caregivers for their exceptional care.
