Doris Jones Tousha, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on April 6, 1951, in Silsbee, Texas.
Doris was truly one of a kind. She was strong-willed, honest, hardworking, and never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. She had a big personality and an even bigger heart, she loved her family more than anything.
Doris had a special love for animals, especially cats. At one point in her life, she worked at a veterinary clinic in Sour Lake, which was a perfect fit for her love of animals.
She enjoyed crocheting, watching professional football, country music, especially Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, and loved watching Wheel of Fortune.
Doris spent most of her life working as a phlebotomist. She had a natural interest in the medical field and loved caring for others. She was known for giving her opinion, whether anyone asked for it or not, and she certainly wasn't afraid to correct a doctor if the need arose. That was Doris, she said what she thought and she stood by it.
She was an incredibly hardworking woman, sometimes holding two or even three jobs at once. She did what she needed to do and rarely complained about it.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Kristina Lakey and her fiance' Chris; grandchildren, Jacob Kendrick, Mason Kendrick, Sebastian Ramirez, and Ember Busby and her husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Brax Kendrick and Bailey Kendrick; and her sister, Charlotte Goodman and her husband, Darrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cody Jones and Ethel Green Jones; her beloved husband, Tommy Tousha; her brother, Billy Jones; her son, Andy Anderson; and her stepson, Shaun Tousha.
Doris will be remembered for her honesty, her stubborn streak, her sense of humor, her love of animals, and most of all, her love for her family. She was never afraid to be herself, and there will never be another Doris.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the people who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson. Burial will follow at Guedry Cemetery.
