It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denise Crate, who departed this life on August 5, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on June 9, 1956, in Port Arthur, Denise lived a life filled with warmth and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Denise found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her green thumb brought beauty to her gardens, and she cherished time spent by the beach, soaking in the sun and sea. She was known for her love of grilling, often gathering loved ones for delicious meals and laughter. A devoted animal lover, her pets were a constant source of comfort and companionship. Above all, Denise treasured her family, finding her greatest happiness in their company.

Denise leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by her devoted partner, Michael "Mike" Runte. She is also survived by her loving brother, Paul Meleton, and his wife, Suzette, and her dear sister, Susan Drake. Nieces, Daniellé Talbert and Nicole Jackson, nephews, Michael Talbert, Cody Ray, Kristofer and Tristan Meleton, also Taylor Porter her grandnephew that she raised. Her grandsons Joland Duque, Nathen Porter, Percy Porter, along with her grandniece Angeliqué Randall and Rylee Ray. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Denise was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Loretta Meleton, her sister, Lanette Lowe, her grand-niece Samantha Jackson. They now welcome her home, where she rests in eternal peace.

Family and friends will honor Denise's memory with a rosary to be prayed at 5:00 p.m. followed by a visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m.7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas followed by a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
