Obituary

Carrie Inez Reed (Gonzalez), born on February 24, 1959, in Webster, South Dakota, passed away on September 15, 2026, in Colmesneil, Texas.

Carrie had a deep love for music, finding particular joy in playing the piano and immersing herself in the sounds of blues music. Her passion for these artistic expressions brought much beauty into her life and the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her devoted son, Joseph Reed, and his wife, Jennifer, of Port Neches, Texas. Carrie was a cherished grandmother to Jack A. Reed and Julia M. Reed, who will carry her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her brothers, William “Billy” Gonzalez and Michael “Mikey” Gonzalez, and her sister, D. Michele Gonzalez.

Carrie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Augustine and Helen Gonzalez; her brother, Paul Gonzalez; and her sister, Janet Arriola. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until the service begins. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine, Texas.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I only met Carrie a couple of times but the thing I remember about her was her talent on the piano. She played a piano like a concert pianist. Rest in Pease Carrie.
