Beverly Jo Radley

Beverly Jo Radley, 94, of Sour Lake, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on August 27, 2026.

Beverly was born in Fowlerton, Texas, on March 28, 1932. She was the daughter of Bill and Gladys Williams. She married her high school sweetheart, Rhea, and together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2023. She took great pride in her home and family and was a devoted homemaker who loved cooking, baking, entertaining, and making everyone who entered her home feel welcome. She enjoyed square dancing and made many friends in the square-dancing community over the years. Beverly was always beautifully put together, rarely without her hair styled and her nails done. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in serving her church and others. She loved her family deeply and treasured the time she spent with those she loved. She will be remembered for her gracious hospitality, her strong faith, her devotion to family, and the warmth and care she so freely gave to others.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rhea Radley; her parents, Bill and Gladys Williams; her sister, Billie Jean Talmadge; and her brothers, David Ray Williams, Charles Mical Williams, and W. Lee Williams.

She is survived by her son, Steven Radley and his wife, Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Michelle Radley and Chris Radley; and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee, Koltyn, Penelopy, Kiley, and Bailey Jo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eva Provost, Iris Kay Wages, and Best Hospice Care of Texas for their love, kindness, and friendship while caring for Beverly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Sour Lake, Texas, at 765 6th St, Sour Lake, Texas 77659. Officiating will be Reverend Tony Thornton. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake, Texas.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Sour Lake, Texas, at 765 6th St, Sour Lake, Texas 77659.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Radley, Tyler Tolbert, Toby Tolbert, Larry Bronstad, Don Radley and Terry Radley.

Honorary pallbearers are Koltyn Tolbert and Colt Williams.

WORDS FROM BEVERLY

I have had such a good life, for which I am extremely grateful. Although I'm very aware of my shortcomings and failures, being brought up in church gave me the proper foundation for living a Christian life. As I've aged and matured, I became more serious about my relationship with God and have realized nothing in life is more important.

Meeting Rhea in high school and sharing 71 wonderful years of marriage with him was one of the greatest joys of my life. Our son, Steven, and our grandchildren, Michelle and Chris, brought us so much happiness through the years. That joy only grew as we welcomed our great-grandchildren — Tyler, Kaylee, Koltyn, Penelope, Kylie, and Bailey — each one a special blessing to our family.

I thank Steven and all my family members and friends who made the time bearable for me after Rhea’s death. Living without him was the most difficult time of my life.

I would like my last words to be to any of my family members or friends who have not accepted God's gift of salvation to turn to him and accept his gift of eternal life. He accepts all who turn to him in faith.

My life has been a blessed one. I hope my family will leave here today not too sad but remembering all the good times we had together through the years. I LOVE YOU ALL!
